I am having a BIG struggle within myself at the moment - don't worry, I won't go into details on the PMA board - and am drifting through days, weeks, months with little idea or memory of what I'm doing with my time. As a consequence, everyday self care has gone out the window and the longer this continues the more overwhelmed I'll become by the to-do list. And the more I'll berate myself for not doing it ALL, RIGHT NOW. I'm sure this sounds familiar to most of you...
So today I decided to try to break the pattern a bit. Every day, I am going to write down all the positive things I have done, date it, and blu-tack it somewhere conspicuous.
I have been catching myself invalidating anything I do that IS positive by telling myself that it doesn't count because I didn't do some other thing that I am supposed to do. Whilst I've been aware of doing it, this awareness hasn't stopped me continuing to give myself A Hard Time.
I thought having a visual reminder might help. And maybe it could help someone else too.

This is a very good idea! And I do think it's something that a lot of people need to be reminded of.
Just because you didn't do something else, doesn't cancel out the positive that you did do!
Brilliant idea, and well done you for breaking that cycle!
xx
