Right guys, so there's only 21 days left until Christmas and I do not think I could be more excited. I feel like a child, but this year I'm so much more excited to be giving presents than receiving them.
I really think that the world would be a better place if everyone took a few minutes of their day to making someone smile. It could be sending a message to someone to cheer them up, it could be making dinner for a loved on, or a neighbour, or something bigger.
I always try to do at least one good deed a day. I find it helps my self esteem as I feel less of a horrible person and tend to accept help from others if I go out of my way to help them. For example, a few weeks ago I saw a woman juggling her baby and her purse getting money for the trolley, and nearly dropped the child, so I went over and held the kid, calmed the stressful woman down, and gave her a second to breath before carrying on. I know if that was me, it would have made a difference.
This Christmas, my good deeds are volunteering in a homeless shelter Christmas day/Boxing day, donating blood, and donating my hair to a charity that makes wigs for children with cancer. I don't expect anyone to go out of their way like that , but I know that this Christmas time, people struggle, feel alone, and feel stressed more than ever. So maybe you could take a few minutes to help someone out, it's the season of good will after all...
So post your good deeds here, or ideas for other people to try. Lets try and make a difference to people who aren't as happy about the festive season!
Casey xx

I am offering a gift wrapping service for the elderly and disabled in my community It feels very rewarding to know that you've done something to help others. Especially around the festive season! I also hold a Christmas morning in the community room a few days before Christmas so it gives people the chance to see their friends and neighbours before Christmas if one or both of them are not going to be there on the day for this I bake a cake and make lots of pots of tea

Aww wow that sounds great! One of my elderly neighbours lost her husband a few years ago around Christmas so we made her dinner. And my grandma lives in a row of disabled flats and when I make her meals, I always do extra for the people there too I wonder if there's anything I could do at the university before I go...I feel bad for the international students, for example, my friend Eva. She cant afford to go home to Indonesia and will be alone at Christmas. We're thinking of doing an early Christmas day with her before leaving though

I found another good deed I've done this year, and wonder if any other cities do the same. In Northampton town centre, there's a Christmas "Wishing Tree", which has a fence around it with tags hanging off it. Each tag has the name and age of a child who wont be getting presents this year. They may be homeless, in care, ill in hospital or living in poverty. The idea is that you take a tag, and go and buy a present for the child. Anything you want, as big or small, and you bring it and put it under the tree. I got Poppy aged 4...I may have gone slightly overboard, as I bought a rather large stocking and filled it with sweets, dolls, teddies, toys, colouring things, and just general Christmas goodies...She's in a care home with no family this Christmas. It made me feel very good about helping someone out. Might be worth checking if your town does it, and maybe collecting some spare change from school or work to buy the kid a nice present

Oh wow guys. I'm blown away by the amount you all selflessly do! I need to get my butt in gear and start doing the same! Thank you for the inspiration! Keep going! You should be proud of yourselves

Casey I love that idea of the stocking! Imagine how excited she's going to be on Christmas day. I remember when I was a kid and at Primary school we used to fill shoe boxes with presents for kids in Africa. My mum used to always go way over the top and get excited Vony x Aw, I remember doing that at primary school. :')

Ive often thought about sending a package to soldiers for xmas but I've left it too late this year and their deadline has passed

I struggle to get into town though, so maybe that's why. It's a really good idea - if I can get into town soon, I'll definitely partake. Whereabouts is it?

I'm doing 2 days with a local charity, cooking a Christmas dinner for homeless people.
