Thank you to everyone who attended the hangout last night
1) First of all a massive thank you to everyone who got involved with the 24 hour hangout. Whether you donated, tuned in, shared the link or were actually on camera we appreciate all of your efforts as they brought us so much closer to being able to apply for charity status. Also all the videos from the hangout are now on the website so you can watch them back and continue sharing them around. the donations close this Saturday so can we please have a HUGE push from all of you so we can raise even more money for MiLO.
2) So we’re in need of another competition. Christmas themed if possible. The response last night was for something on the forum. Someone mentioned a quiz and I thought we could maybe do it in an advent calendar way. So a question a day and then a prize at the end (hoody/t-shirt) when all the points are collated together. We still need lots of ideas (ideally very interactive) they could be held on the forums, Twitter, Facebook, the website or all of them. We also need prize ideas please.
3) Please can everyone continue pushing the wristbands as Bex would really like to get a new order of them in before the mad Christmas rush.
4) Message from Bex: Most officers have now picked their roles, could they please take a look at the forum to tell me when they're available for training. I want the next 2 weeks to be training weeks and to get everyone up to scratch with whatever role they have chosen. This also means that other members who are not officers will soon get the chance to be a lot more involved in MiLO, as ambassador & moderator applications will reopen etc.
5) We are planning for a new message board on phobias to be put online. Does anyone else have any ideas for message boards they would like to see up?
6) Message from Bex: By the end of Jan (not long) I would like to get a whole ton of content put up onto the website. This includes the 'disorders' pages which will be full of information on each disorder (well, the most common ones to start), symptoms, diagnosis, where to get help and so on. Also looking at getting some 'self help' articles up on the site too. Could everyone who is interested in doing this please put their name down? I've got the lists ready now so will split the list up equally and send the 'how to' guide that I've put together which includes a template.
7) Can everyone please not forget about the MiLO football match early next year. Callum is still looking for volunteers. I would like to reiterate that this does not solely include players. There are plenty of roles so if you e-mail him at callum@mindslikeours.co.uk he will give you all the information you need and answer any questions you may have.
The Date is provisionally booked for 29/30 March 2014 in Barhead just outside Glasgow. We are looking for players who would ideally be there for the full event and play 12 hours minimum on a rotation basis)
We need 32 players and currently have 29 interested. There's no guarantee that you'll play after 32 BUT having run a similar event last year, we went through 70 players before getting 32 to turn up so please can people register their interest but note that with number restrictions you may be a 'reserve' for now but will probably in fact be needed.
There will be something similar to a food stall there. So help will be needed bringing food and drinks and also being there to run the stall. Also a few runs to Tesco during the day may be needed so people willing to do so please email Callum on the above email and he will get back to you.
Message from Bex: FINALLY, a huge well done to Rebecca and Ben for their sponsored bungee jump. We are now just over halfway to the £5,000 needed to become a registered charity. All of our governing papers are done and so now we just need to raise that final £2,500 before we can send our application to the charities commission.
Please keep thinking of fundraising ideas (such as the Yorkshire 3 peaks from Nick, you don’t even have to get physically involved, you could just help, run or think of the idea) and help us to grow even further.
