Would it just be for DLA or can DSA count towards one as I'll be a student and applying next year to help pay for medication...

Hi Casey, In my local authority you don't need DLA or DSA to qualify.
As I've said I just got a Doctor's note for my BD and Agoraphobia and got a bus pass
It will certainly help you if you're a student, financially that is.
Check with your town council.
It really should be a simple process

I'm moving to a new city so I'll have to check with the University student support team when I get there I guess

Even if you can't get a bus pass in the standard way you will be able to ask for funding for one from the DSA. In my experience they've given money for transport costs.

You can't get a bus pass unless you qualify for DLA level 2 or higher mobility. If you only get DLA care then you aren't eligible. I've tried and enquired with a doctors note and I wasn't eligible. I have BD and receive Lower Rate Care DLA. This isn't true. I get dla care but nothing for mobility and im eligible for a bus pass. Ive had it for 6 months now.
