Hi, I'm off to uni in a couple of days and I'm pretty anxious about it because of the social aspect and the possibility of making my social anxiety/depression worse and because of how it's affected my ability to concentrate on work and motivate myself before. A DSA assesor (Disability Student Allowance) suggested that I get mentoring at uni and I was wondering if anyone else had that? Or if anyone else has experienced mental health problems while studying and how they coped with it, if they wouldn't mind sharing? And if you did get any help from uni, how difficult was it to get help? Sorry for the rambling

I just recently got a DSA assessment for my dyspraxia and sensory integration disorder (developmental disorders) and the assessment itself wasn't too bad. It just involved a long conversation about your needs (I think it might even be a standard interview), mine covered reading, writing, attention, can't remember anything else now I think I have been recommended some tutoring but hasn't been approved by SFE/DSA yet. I suffer with anorexia, PTSD, possible bipolar, self-harm and suicidal ideation. For anorexia, I have recently started drinking 'complan' shakes (the chocolate flavour's real nice), PTSD doesn't really bother me at the moment, but I have people who I can go and talk to informally, about a variety of stuff. I find locking the blades in the kitchen helpful if you are a self-harmer and everything else that could be used to attempt hidden. I can talk some, but I hope some of this might be useful
