Hey all,
Many of you may have come across us due to watching 'Diaries of a Broken Mind' on BBC 3. A groundbreaking documentary in which 25 young people, all with mental health disorders, filmed their lives over 6 months.
The reaction from this programme was incredibly positive and is what spurred Bex (23, Agoraphobia) to create Minds Like Ours, along with the help of some of her friends and supporters.
We want to keep that momentum going; of positivity, awareness and support. That is why we are asking YOU to create video diaries for our YouTube channel.
Here are some of the ideas of the types of videos you could do:
- Private videos for just community members to watch
- Joint videos of sufferers with the same condition
- A big joint video like the questions & answers in the BBC documentary (Diaries of a Broken Mind)
- Public videos of individuals who want to tell their story
- Different CBT methods/coping methods and treatments.
- Lifestyle blogs such as coping with weight loss/gain due to a mental health disorder, how to feel more confident, etc.
- An introduction video; who are you and what is your mental health disorder about?
- Your own ideas! Feel free to send us any ideas you think would work as a video diary
Remember, you can ask for these videos to be public on our YouTube channel, in order to raise awareness, or private for just the community to see and offer support.
Not sure how to VLOG? Don't worry! I've attached the guidelines on how to get started to this thread.
Thanks,
Bex x
