There seems to be a lot of films that feature schizophrenia in some form or another and I wondered if everyone though these were accurate portrayals of the disorder?
There are a few that I can think of from the top of my mind: A Beautiful Mind (amazing film) Donnie Darko Fight Club (although I think this is Dual Personality...Not sure?) Shutter Island Psycho
Has anyone seen any of these? Even if you don't have a psychotic disorder do you think that these films helped you build up a picture of schizophrenia? Just thought it'd be interesting to find out!

Hey Bex, I used to use Donnie Darko when I was younger to explain The Man I see. Looking back, it probably wasn't the best example to use as obviously that talk a lot about time travel and that's not something I personally believe in, but it was the only way I could show what I was frightened of. I've never seen A Beautiful Mind! Will have to hunt around for it.

I thought his wife in Shutter Island was Bipolar? Or was he supposed to be schizophrenic? Although a lot don't actually say what they are supposed to have :/ the only other I've seen is a Beautiful Mind, which I thought was good, but tbh I don't know, I get confused about what schizophrenia is myself!
