Hey everyone,
We are now re-opening ambassador applications! We have had a few people who could not commit the time which means we have openings for their disorders, as well as some new disorders too. Below is a bit more information as to what an ambassador is, what they do and how you can become one.
What is an ambassador and what do they do?
At Minds Like Ours we want to be able to spread the word far and wide, as well as being there to support each other when we all need it most. We aim to have around 5-10 ambassadors for each disorder (when we're bigger), for now around 2-3 would be the maximum. The ambassador is the 'go to' person for that disorder, and would work alongside the other ambassadors to help bring others into the community, come up with ideas about how they could portray their disorder (blogs, vlogs, something else) and also be there for support when needs be.
An ambassador can use any means they have to get others to join in (Twitter is a great one). They will also have access to the ambassador only message board which is where they can share their ideas of how to bring more people into the community, the blogs, vlogs and so on. You'll get ambassador permissions on the board and your very own e-mail address (how exciting!)
It is important for us, and I cannot stress this enough, that each ambassador puts their own health first. You can put as many or as little hours into this in a week, but as soon as you need a break then take one! If something comes up and you can no longer commit then you must let us know ASAP so we can work around you and get in another ambassador if needs be.
Ambassadors who are not active on the forum will unfortunately be removed from their position, to make room for those who desperately want to become an ambassador.
How to become an ambassador
In the beginning we just chose the first few people who joined the forum and MiLO to become an ambassador. As we've grown we've realised the importance of picking people based on their skills, the time they have to commit and their ideas. SO, we have put together a very short application form to help pick those who have the skill and time to donate to Minds Like Ours. Please fill in the below and send it via PM to myself.
Please note that we are currently not accepting applications for the following disorders:
OCD
Anxiety
Application Form

How much time could you donate to the forum/Twitter/Facebook in a week? (Please be realistic):
Do you have any particular skills that would help you with your ambassador position?:
Do you have any great ideas for Minds Like Ours?:
Anything else you think will help with your application?:
Look forward to going through your applications! Please give us a few days to get through them, as lots of people apply at once!
Thanks
Bex
