Hey all,
As you know we already have 1 competition going on at the moment, in the form of our MiLO raffle (have you got your tickets yet?) and as promised here is the second competition. This time you have the chance to win £20 worth of Amazon vouchers, so it is open to anyone and everyone around the World (we'll just convert the pounds into your currency if you're international). You'll also win a brand new forum title, reserved only for the best entrants into this competition.
The Competition
The idea is simple. Share your stories or wisdom with others, about your mental health disorder on the forum. Below you'll see 10 ideas of topics, but feel free to come up with your own too. These could be factual posts that have been researched or they can be personal posts that are about your experience along. By sharing our stories we can not only raise awareness but also provide support for others in need too. You'll find that we have LOTS of guests on the forum who search for advice about their own disorders, with your help we can ensure they're finding the support they need.
Post Ideas:
"How do I know if I have (my mental health disorder)"
"What do I do if I think I have..."
"(My disorder) and me"
"A day in the life of (my disorder)"
"How (my disorder) was diagnosed"
"What are my symptoms?"
"Where do I go if I need help?"
"Common misconceptions about (my disorder)"
"What exactly is (my disorder)?"
"Side effects of my medication"
Feel free to add your own ideas too!
Rules
Entries are open from today (26th August) until the 16th September. Winners will be announced by the 18th September and prizes will be sent out on the 18th.
Each topic, thread or post has to be posted in the right forum (for example under the relevant 'Our Mental Health Disorders Board') for it to count as an entry. Please don't mention that the post is for the competition, we'll know if they are.
Entries that are just copied and pasted from somewhere else will be disqualified. We'll run each post through Copyscape so will know if if it just copied from somewhere. It's okay if you want to copy some facts from other websites but always cite your sources and have no more than 20% copied content.
If you are writing about your personal view of something then make sure you explain that it is personal to you.
Posts don't have to be a minimum or maximum length and you can write as many as you want.
The winner will be chosen based on the number of good quality and detailed posts. For example, 20 short posts will weigh up the same against 5 long posts.
The winner will be sent a £20 Amazon Gift Card, or a gift card of the same value in their chosen currency. They will also become one of our forum 'Advice Givers', a coveted title within the community.
Second and third place will receive the forum title and role too.
So, get your thinking caps on and your typing fingers ready. Go, go, go!
