Hey Beth, I'm on Sertraline also. Been a bit rubbish and forgotten to get a renewal of my prescription. I take 150mg, but only got 100mg tablets AND I missed a dose so feeling a bit strange today.
How do you find the Sertraline?

Hey Beth, I've been on Sertraline which I found awful and ended up in hospital after taking it (obviously didn't work or made me worse)but that happens with anti depressants when you first take them. I've also taken quetiepine, lorazapam, and i'm now on olanzapine and zopiclone. I'm changing to aripiprazole soon and am so scared to change due to olanzapine being amazing. I just can't handle the weight gain from anti psychotics. Has anyone been on aripiprazole i'm starting on 5mg.

I find Sertraline horrible tbh. It makes me put on weight, I put on 1.5 stone when I started taking it which wasn't very nice. It also makes me unable to sleep AT ALL so I have to take medication to get me to sleep. I think it works though with my OCD and psychosis but the side effects are just horrible. x

I lost weight on sertraline so that's strange! Anti psychotics are the worst for weight gain though :/ oh that's really annoying, I take sleeping tablets too, could you ask to change your medication bc of the side effects. My psychiatrist changed mine x

Started Venlafaxine today, latest in a long line of meds I've tried over the years. Hope this one does something positive!

I'm on Olanzapine too. Seems to be working a little but I gotta take it for quite a while to get it kicking in properly.

I've been taken off sertraline because it made me worse and am now about to go on quetiapine in a couple of days. I've had to have loads of tests before I go on it because apparently it could be dangerous for my health.

I take no medications at all. I've had sertraline, fluoxetine, peroxetine and so many others and none have worked. I had terrible side effects with all of them and even the doctors now agree that medications are not the way forward for me

I see this is an old thread but I thought I'd chip in.
Currently on sertraline 100mg (since the past 8 yrs I think) up til recently it's worked great for me: really kept depression at bay and no side effects Just started quetiapine. The XR didn't agree with me,s eemed to have no effect. Currently on 75mg immediate release.
In the past: fluoxetine, venlafaxine, zopiclone, reboxetine, citalopram, paroxetine...
What i'm relaisng for extensive reading of other's reviews of meds is that people can react so very differently. What is one man's/woman's poison is another's cure, so to speak.
