So, I've been having a wander through the forum recently and can't seem to work out where everyone has gone!
Many of the boards haven't been posted on in days, some even weeks.
Is there something that we could do at MiLO to make the forums more interesting for everyone? Is there a reason people aren't posting as often as in the beginning?
Let us know and we'll do all we can to get it sorted.
Thanks a lot!!
Bex
Edit:
Here are some figures to show what I mean
Members Total Members: 157 Most Users Online: 67 (Aug 7, 2013 at 7:59pm) Users Online in the Last 24 Hours 6 Staff, 20 Members, 164 Guests.
That's around 16% of members have visited the forum in the last 24 hours. Hmmm!

I noticed this as well Bex, personally not sure what could make it more interesting but maybe discuss it at the hangout tonight?

Personally, for me, I've just started a new job and there's been lots of training so I haven't been on as much... I shall be coming on more often now though.

I will admit I am not on as often as I would like, but it is due to being busy as oppose to anything being wrong with the site.

I try to post something, almost on a daily basis, usually in fun and frolics, but some of the threads of late have been a bit of a ghost town. Maybe lots of people are on their hols ??

I've noticed this as well. I'm on pretty much every day, but not much new to respond to. I've noticed that people like polls and subjects where they can really express their opinion and share experiences. Seems like something quite a few people respond too. Maybe we could do something similar to when we went viral, it seemed like something that pulled the whole "community" together and maybe everyone excited about this site.

Thanks for the feedback and the advice guys. It can be very difficult to keep a forum active, but I don't think we're doing too bad a job. Especially thanks to people like you who are constantly keeping us busy We have to remember that the initial rush of excitement is obviously going to gradually die down (this has happened with our video and blog view numbers too), so we need to try and keep it as high as possible. I think you're right Katrine, with the viral thing. We did have a forum posting competition a few weeks ago that got the forums buzzing! I'm thinking of doing something similar, but asking people to write advice/tips/tricks/articles on the boards that are the most quiet (the mental health disorder ones) and thinking of a great prize for the best posts. What does everyone think? It will also become a great resource for people too!

Fab idea Bex I'm here!!!! It seems to have been an odd couple of weeks for us all. I know I've been super busy but now that Mum has gone I will be around a lot more again (which means the forums are getting a good spam )

How about the prize as becoming a member of staff? We could have a new position of an advice giver (agony aunt/uncle) and the winner gets the job!

That's an AWESOME job. I think wellbeing tips are a really great thing to provide as well and it would be great to have the forums has a community and a little hub of advice at the same time. Thumbs up from me!

I think forums are an important part of anything in life. Where like minds meet up. Forums aren't as popular as they once were. Facebook killed a lot off. We need to get people posting here and not on Facebook (feeding the beast) I think a massive emphasis on HELP would draw more people in. I used to own a huge forum in the United States which is now closed because of Facebook and everyone with their dog setting up local groups... www.DISCJOCKEYAMERICA.com - If you look it up on the wayback machine you will see how popular it was... I sold it in 2004 - nice $$ I started a forum here in Plymouth called www.PLYMOUTHBUZZ.co.uk but it was tough getting people off Fbook.....

Maybe a bit of cross fertilization is needed here? Topics that get posted in the Facebook group??? We all know how to cut and paste a url now don't we??
