Hey all,
So, we have plenty of intro videos that have either gone up or are scheduled to go up over the next week or so. Please have a look at this post here if you've sent me one and I haven't replied yet. Please do keep sending in the intro videos, we'll always put them up as a running thing, so don't worry if you haven't got one to me yet.
The next thing we are going to be looking at is diagnosis. Don't worry if you haven't done an intro video and want to do one of these, that's absolutely fine as an intro video is not mandatory (it's just so people can follow your story a bit better).
So, I want to do the diagnosis video in the style of an interview. Below are some questions which will come up on the screen in the edited video and then we'll see you answering them. You don't have to do all of them and you may find that some answers are edited out depending on how much time we have, however see how it goes and let me know if you have any problems.
Questions
When were you first diagnosed?
What were you first diagnosed with?
Has that changed since?
What was the diagnosis process?
Who diagnosed you? A doctor? A psychiatrist? A team?
How did your GP/doctor deal with your disorder?
How long did it take for a diagnosis? From the time you first saw someone about it to being told what it was.
Do you think that your diagnosis is right? (Only answer this if you don't think it's right, otherwise we'll have a load of videos of people saying yes it's fine haha).
Did you face any problems trying to get diagnosed?
How did you find the whole process of diagnosis?
Who was the first person you told about your diagnosis?
How did they react?
If you could go back and start the diagnosis process again, what would you do differently? (For example would you push for more information, would you demand to be taken seriously, etc)
I think that is it! Remember we're just talking about diagnosis here, not treatment (that's coming next) so try to focus on those questions. If you have any ideas for different questions then let me know below and I'll consider adding them in.
As usual you can send the videos to bex@mindslikeours.co.uk so I can distribute them to our video editors, or you can put them in a dropbox file and our editors can retrieve them from there.
Please do not try and edit the videos yourself with words or music or anything. We have to do them in a certain way to keep them all the same, and music may also have some copyright issues. Just send it to us as raw as possible and we will do the rest!
Thanks
Bex
