It's great to finally see something like this available for those who have mental health issues at last nice one!
I'll introduce myself to you.
My name is Joel and i'm a 20 year old guy from Yeovil in Somerset.
I have Tourette's Syndrome, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Depression. Although only diagnosed in October 2012 my first tics started when I was 3 years old. I therefore have quite a lot of experience of living with it and coping in day to day living, in private life as well as in public.
Life can be hard with Tourette's and OCD combined. My OCD straightens everything up.....then my Tourette's tics mess it up......it's a horrible circle from which there is no escape. Hence the Depression.
I know that Ambassador applications are paused but I would love to be an Ambassador for Tourette's and all other Tic Disorders, Depression and OCD as I have a lot of experience and really feel that I can help people in this role. I feel very strongly that Tourette's and Tic Disorders are massively under represented in the mental health arena. Many people don't realise that Tourette's and other Tic Disorders usually come as a pair with another condition.....mine being OCD.
Anyhow I look forward to chatting to you all some more
