SO! I got a Facebook friend request from a girl...let's name her beth wood. And I have no idea who she is...So I message her, seeing how many mutual friends we have...
"Hey
sorry but do I know you?"
"Yeah" she replied. "We used to talk all the time. We hung out in priory for years? We were really close."
Priory is a group of people who hang around my city centre, we all get along, here's about 500 people who've been a part at some point or another...But I have NO IDEA who she is...and I feel awful.
"erm, sorry I don't know you. Are you sure we've met? Priory was a big place."
"...yeah. If it helps Casey...you used to call me tom"
Then it clicked. Tom wood had been my friend for years...we WERE close. He'd told me at the time something he didn't trust others with, his Gender Identity Disorder. I checked the profile picture and have no idea how I didn't recognise her.
Now I feel very awkward...and I hate myself just that little bit more.
Come on guys, beat my awkwardness?
