SO! I got a Facebook friend request from a girl...let's name her beth wood. And I have no idea who she is...So I message her, seeing how many mutual friends we have... "Hey sorry but do I know you?" "Yeah" she replied. "We used to talk all the time. We hung out in priory for years? We were really close." Priory is a group of people who hang around my city centre, we all get along, here's about 500 people who've been a part at some point or another...But I have NO IDEA who she is...and I feel awful. "erm, sorry I don't know you. Are you sure we've met? Priory was a big place." "...yeah. If it helps Casey...you used to call me tom" Then it clicked. Tom wood had been my friend for years...we WERE close. He'd told me at the time something he didn't trust others with, his Gender Identity Disorder. I checked the profile picture and have no idea how I didn't recognise her. Now I feel very awkward...and I hate myself just that little bit more. Come on guys, beat my awkwardness? ((names were changed in this story))

Casey - Why are you hating yourself? You can't help it!! You genuinely made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes!! Don't feel bad. You're not the first and you certainly wont be the last! I make mistakes on a daily basis - Plus, you have been and are going through a lot, so your bound to forget things, but also with a name change, thats not really going to help you!! Don't beat yourself up over it hunny Mistakes happen xx

Yep! I've referred to a male-to-female trans friend online as a 'guy' and a 'man' and 'he' repeatedly for about three years before he came out to me as transgendered - I felt so awkward and I still do it accidentally in my mind occasionally x

Keeley you have such a way with words! And I was thinking, should we have a section on here for Gender Identity Disorder, it seems to be one missing around here...

Well I've got an awkward situation for you maybe not as awkward as yours but it was kinda awkward aha Well here's what happened so I do voluntary work at a film studio (to get experience) and one night I remember we had a event to show studio space and there was a roller disco (totally awesome 80s music and everything) but yeah so I was to invite guests to join in the roller disco and it was really quiet for a couple of hours so within that time I got acquainted to the roller disco instructor we talked for ages and she had a great personality she taught me dance move on rolerskates and I told her about the studio etc. I really started to like her and though 'hey why not asked her out' now this girl looked about my age (18) or 1 or 2 years older so I asked if she wanted to meet up after the event but she said she was 32 years old most awkward thing ever the evening after that was so awkward aha -__-

I was out in my back garden letting my dog out and a house a few doors away was playing really bassy music. So i thought why not and started dancing kinda rave style and thrusting my hips rhythmically, just generally being an idiot to be honest. Then as i turn to go in, turns out my female neighbour was sitting out watching me, needless to say i now let my dog out and watch him from a window haha
