My memory has been getting worse in the last 6 months and I have been forgetting names of people I've worked with for years, stumble in conversations and can't recall things that are said to me. I had a basic memory test at the doctors which I failed and got referred to a memory clinic. The test I took there was geared towards people with dementia and was very basic (I found out recently, I passed getting 28/30) I then had a short appointment with a psychiatrist whom referred me for a CT scan which apparently was fine. I hadn't heard from the psychiatrist despite him assuring me he would be in touch with my results and last week I got a copy of a letter from my G.P stating that I have Depressive Pseudo Dementia. Has anyone else heard of this or had this diagnosis themselves ??

Hi Paul, I will make it clear now that I do not have Depressive Pseudo Dementia. However, I can offer you some support as I do suffer from memory problems. I can't remember my childhood at all and I only remember my teenage years in flashbacks and nightmares. Just so you know you aren't alone. Have you tried using Google in your quest to get information? I have found this www.mentalhelp.net/poc/view_doc.php?type=doc&id=15336 - which might help you.

Hey, sorry to be uneducated, but I don't really know a lot about this. I've heard of it, but I will look into it for you and see if I can get some tips of how to cope
