Does anyone else get these? I get them a lot when I'm anxious, but also sometimes when I'm not, which makes me wonder if it is anxiety related or if it's something else. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I do get them and it scares me. It feels like my heart flutters and sometimes it can be when anxiety isn't present

I get these too Beth.
For me they are often painful and nothing I do seems to ease the pain until it stops naturally. So, as you can guess I can't offer you any solutions. However, I can tell you that you aren't alone.

I found an interesting video on YouTube which shows you how to stop them, although I'm not sure it works when it's anxiety related. I'll try and find the link to it tomorrow.

I get them to, and also when im manic. Tell your GP to be on the safe side. I had an ECG and it was clear and that made me less anxious about getting anxious if that makes sense?

I ALWAYS get these when my anxiety starts, unfortunately it's VERY normal however certain medications can give them as a side effect too!

I've had them since primary school. I didn't tell anyone back then and, probably because I was young when it started and lacked understanding, they don't scare me. I do worry about the long term impact of anxiety on my physical health though - now that I'm most definitely mid-30s, my body is less forgiving!
Earlier this year, during a particularly distressing time, I developed something called sixth nerve palsy which causes double vision. Apparently quite rare in someone as young (ha!) as me, so I had a barrage of tests to rule out tumours, brain lesions and MS. All clear, thankfully. Most likely cause was said to be stress and sleep deprivation, although no-one could say for sure.
It took a couple of months to improve enough for me to not require corrective prisms... and was a massive shock to me. Extremely disorientating too. My body was definitely trying to tell me something! I'm still trying to listen and calm myself, but I feel trapped by anxiety at the moment.

I get them quite a lot if im anxious or stressed about something, I really hate them because if im trying to not think about the situation thats making me anxious I could just be sitting here listening to music or watching a film, then my heart goes all weird which is impossible to ignore and it just reminds me of what im anxious about!

I get them when I see anything "heart-related" or even when I'm not anxious (e.g. when I'm about to go to sleep) and then become anxious I'm going to die in my sleep/have a heart attack, especially if i'm alone. Sometimes I feel like my heart has stopped and I'll literally gasp.
