Hi everyone. I wasn't too sure where to post this but seen as it has something to do with my OCD therapy I figured I'd post it here. So at the start of October my CBT therapist had to leave. It was really difficult for me as I had become really attached to her and it ended up being a really emotional last session. I don't think I stopped crying for hours afterwords. I found her leaving - which in no way is this her fault - quite a big setback. In the 3 weeks I didn't see anyone, everything kind of went depot, and things went pretty bad. I have started with a new therapist and I think she is lovely. To be honest I'm glad I was able to start seeing her when I did because I was in a really bad place and without her support I think things may have gotten even worse. I see her every week. The thing is, now I'm really scared she is going to leave me too, I don't have any information saying that she is I'm just worried that shes going to tell me shes leaving before I'm ready. I don't really know what to do.

Hi Ellen,I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe if u told her how ur feeling and what u are worried about she may be able to reassure you that she won't be leaving you.

At least you seem to have found good therapists Ellen. The one I have is a complete tool. He says I know too much about OCD and my emetophobia. Well, if you suffered from them, wouldn't you want to know as much about them as possible? This therapist that I have is part time and he has told me he will not work on anything that causes me less than 70% anxiety. That's like throwing a non-swimmer in the deep end and expecting them to swim out and save themselves.

I was maybe thinking of doing that, but I just don't know how to bring it up. I'm going to see her tomorrow, so I'll try and bring it up if I can.

Hopefully you may be able to find someone else?

Yes, he should know a lot about these things himself. The problem of trying to get a new therapist is that in my area there are only so many available and he is the only one local enough to me (he works through the adult psychological therapy service). If I wanted a new therapist, I would have to travel and that is something I just can't do. As for your therapist, why do you think she is going to leave?

Thank you Daz x I don't know Nick. I guess I wasn't expecting my last one to leave, so now i'm just scared that she might leave too. I have no evidence that she is going to leave but i'm just so scared that she might.

I do understand. You get attached to them and have a close bond but a lot of us don't like or can't handle changes to things, especially people, doctors etc. I'm sure she won't leave you hun
