Hello, I'm Nathan. I have suffered from OCD for at least five years now, and have had a terrible time dealing with the disorder. There is such a little amount of accurate information available, and OCD is often and continually stereotyped in the mainstream media as being a subtle personality trait, devoid of any real suffering. I have grown tired of hearing and seeing the same things said, day in day out. I have decided to create a short film about OCD, and would really love help with the creation of the film. I want the film to be made by OCD sufferers, to raise awareness for the lesser known manifestations of OCD. Here is a concise tentative synopsis:
"A culmination of the long-term suffering of young girl with obsessive compulsive disorder. The film will be centred around harm OCD and will explore the detrimental psychological affect of suffering from the disorder, and the extremely distressful intrusive thoughts. The film will explore the everyday life of a young sufferer, and the struggles faced on a daily basis."
I need as much help as I can possibly get. From actors, editors, designers, etc. A storyboard is currently being developed, and should hopefully be finalised in the next few weeks. If everything goes ahead smoothly we hope to begin filming in late October.
Thank you for taking time to read this and if you have any questions please send me a message,
Thanks,
Nathan.

I'm happy to help around ideas, and could try to do some editing. I have an A Level in media and won the Digital Creativity awards for a film trailer I made, so my input might help. Also, I'm the OCD ambassador and have been suffering from it for a while and completely understand your struggle and the lack of respect people have for sufferers proceeding with their daily lives.

Hello Nathan! :-)
Just wanted to say 'thumbs up' for the initiative you are wanting to take with the film! There really is so many stereotypes about OCD!!! The pressure it puts on individual is unbelievable and it seems to be very underestimated. Very. I also suffer from OCD for years now alongside other serious mental disorders and I do love acting so if you do need some help along those line let me know. You can find me also on facebook generally and o minds like ours group too. :-) The blue haired girl ;-P
