Hi, I just thought I'd share whats been happening to me recently as its not something I really knew could happen because of high anxiety/stress until recently so here goes.. Recently I've been having visual hallucinations (strange coloured shapes, patterns, faces, people, strange outlines and silhouettes) its been quite confusing and scary. I was thinking it was being cause my my meds reacting with each other but I had a talk with my physiatrist yesterday and he said they have caused by extremely high and prolonged anxiety **hallucinations are a rare symptom of anxiety** anxiety in the past has made me extremely paranoid and so overwhelmed that I dissociate. I've suffered from anxiety and depression since I was 14 I'm now 17 and hoped I'd be free from mh services by now, but for however long it takes we have to keep fighting . If anyone has any tips with how to deal with hallucinations it would be much appreciated x

Hi jess, I've suffered with hallucinations with my ocd but these are usually voices. For me a big help is talking to someone I trust to distract myself. Most hallutionations don't go away by themselves however. You need medication to really control them. Speak to a doctor about getting some medication. I'm here if you ever need to talk. x Beth
