I've kept journals since I was ten, although I tend only to write these days when I'm struggling with something, so if it's looking empty then it means I'm doing well! I also started a blog about seven months ago, which is good when I feel I need support and feedback. Online forums like this and the mental health community on YouTube have also been really helpful, because they are a way of connecting and feeling less alone when I have felt that I could talk to no one in the real life, or that they didn't understand.
I'm so glad now that I've always kept journals, because it's kept me literate about my feelings even when I couldn't converse about them. It's helped me to go from not talking about them to anyone (except my journal), to talking to others online, to talking to professionals, family and friends.
Guess I was just wondering who else journals and finds this helpful or if you have any other similar healthy methods to get your emotions out?

Hey! I was very similar to you, I used to write in my journal usually when I was struggling. I'd never read it back, as some of what I wrote was pretty scary, but it helped me get it out at the time, even if it didn't make any sense. However I've found that since I've been on my medication I'm unable to do this! It seems to have taken away my entire literary ability. I'm coping on a day to day basis much better with the meds, but I just can't write anymore, I have so far written one blog for MLO and I'd love to do more, but even that I find difficult due to the fogginess. It's incredibly frustrating! I can't see to verbalise anything anymore.

That's really frustrating Mia! How long have you been on those meds? If they are new then perhaps things might improve as you get used to them?
