So I have always loved singing, its one of my main ways of coping I guess (not always great when I am sad and others are asleep). When I was in secondary school I performed in front of my whole school at my leavers assembly, it was such a high and it felt so good to show them people who had bullied me or I guess kind of acted like I didn't exist that I could do something...prior to hearing me sing one boy said he didn't think I would be able to sing because I was too shy and when he heard me he admitted he was wrong.Anyway at the leavers assembly I sung CrushCrushCrush by paramore, every time I listen to that song I feel a sense of happiness and achievement I guess I feel proud that I did that and everyone clapped and were surprised. After a car accident the song became even more important to me as it was used in EMDR sessions I can't really remember what the proper purpose was of it but I just know it was one of the things used to make me feel better when I was talking about the crash or the other incidents which were discussed during the treatment.

Firstly, you are AWESOME. And not just because of your music taste Getting up and singing at school must have been SO scary... I would have loved to have seen their faces! I love this song. Creativity is so important, I was so scared and bullied at school for being a music geek (kids used to mock me for my 'briefcase', which was my clarinet case, until I got such bad anxiety I'd refused to play in and school concerts and started SHing so I wouldn't be physically able to play in public) so to me, that you did that, is just amazing. I'm sharing my happy song! It reminds me of your one - Paramore and Brand New always sit well on a mix tape! This is a song thatme and my brother like to sing in our kitchen sometimes when we are both home, taking turns on the lines in the choruses, which I always muddle up. There may or may not be wine involved which is why I get in a pickle.... I hope you like it... it is SUCH a good one for singing along too! x

Carla I love them SO much... Went to see them on BOTH nights at The Roundhouse in London last year. I met Jesse Lacey once and he called me 'an absolute sweetheart'. I think he was also trying to run away whilst saying it, but HEY! It was my big moment x

I'm glad I didn't get tickets for Leeds/Reading this year cos I'd have been gutted now that they've pulled out! x

Not my usual style of music but I'm a huge fan of James Veck-Gilodi and a lot of his lyrics certainly have a resonance with mental health issues. I try and listen to this particular song regularly as I find it inspires me to try and be a better person
