In the last day or so it has been noticed that trigger warnings are not being used where they are needed.
If something you are posting could trigger someone else, please include this - *Trigger Warning* - in the subject title.
This includes Facebook. You must include a trigger warning at the very start of your Facebook post.
If you are found to be repeatedly breaking this rule you will receive a warning and your post will be ammended. It may sound harsh, but we all need to look after each other here and triggers can have a very negative impact on a persons recovery. Please make sure you give them the choice to avoid triggers themselves.

Is there any way to sort things out, such as flagging posts that we consider triggering at all? If there was a way to put a symbol by triggering posts, it might be easier for people to recognise faster

Hmm i will check that out Casey, it might be better to have a little symbol or something to signal a trigger!

Just an idea, but I'm also not sure what qualifies for a trigger, as people here are very vulnerable and in many different ways. So some people may not realise what they're typing is triggering...can we set more specific guidelines?

Things that require a warnings in most MH forums I've been on include drug use, alcohol use, suicidal behaviour or thoughts, eating disorder behaviour, weights (if low), self-harm, pictures involving scars, photos of very this people... we can't accommodate everyone's triggers because then everything will have a warning and people won't know what to look out for. Unless we write something like *SH triggers*, *ED triggers*, etc
