Hello all! I'm lauryn and I've been suffering from anxiety with depression since the end of 2012. Also got a history of disordered eating and still find that a bit difficult -.- I've recently started CBT and I'm hoping to have some improvement soon and get back to the old me. I'm also on fluoxetine 40mg, but haven't found it much use, and probably going to have to switch meds soon. Joined as I really want to get to know some people who are like me In terms of non-MH stuff I read, play games (currently obsessed with ac:nl), and various other stuffs.. Writing this now as I have terrible anxiety right now and can't sleep, fingers crossed it comes soon! Edit: Thought I'd add more stuff this morning. I'm 21, and I'm currently taking time out from my course at University due to my illness. I was supposed to graduate this summer. Oh well, there's always next year. I study Neuroscience at uni, which I always think is quite funny, a student of the brain with a mental illness! But hey, it can happen to anyone

I eventually fell asleep at 3am, just woke up now though and feeling really strange today . Ahh I probably should have said, but I was being lazy whilst typing on my phone haha. It stands for animal crossing: new leaf, I swear it's the only thing I've been able to actually concentrate on in a while!

Hey Lauryn, Welcome to the forum. I think you'll find that a lot of us are night owls too and we also have a load of gamers, in fact Animal Crossing seems to be the most talked about game in the introductions board. Must be the thought of escaping to a new world! As I write this I've just come out of a 4 hour stretch of The Sims. I hope you find the forums good for chatting and meeting lots of like minded people. Let me know if you ever need anything. Bex x

Hey Bex, thanks for the welcome Oooh, just wondering, did you get my message about being added to the facebook group? Animal Crossing is awesome! I am currently doing a mood/activity diary for CBT and it's pretty much only has sleeping and playing AC on it haha. Ahh the Sim is so good for getting lost in, a good distraction from anything. I keep meaning to put it back on my laptop so i can play it when i cant sleep.

Hello Keeley, thank you Ahh i know, although recently i've been going through a bit of a bad patch and have taken to sleeping to escape it. My therapist says that only being awake 8 hours a day is a bad thing, but right now i see no bad side! haha. Thank you! I did really enjoy it, and i'm hoping to study more and go into research, especially interested in psychopharmacology now! Speaking of medications i'm finally starting the long and horrible process of switching from fluoextine to citalopram. I'm being a bit stupid and decided to have no medication this week, to get my 40mg in my body down to 20mg, then do 20mg all next week and then properly start reducing to get onto citalopram in about three weeks. I am absolutely terrified of how rotten i'll most likely feel, especially since i was hoping to be brave enough to go to a music event at the end of August, but that's going to be my zero medication week. Gah D:! Hope you are well x

Oh dear. I've had experience with Citalopram! I hope it goes well for you and you don't experience too many bad side effects! Psychopharmacology sounds awesome and somewhat very interesting!! I hope the light at the end of the tunnel shines brightly for you and very soon I am well Thank you xx

How did you find citalopram? I have read some awful stories online D: Although, keeping hopeful, as someone in my family also had problems with anxiety and depression a little while ago and the thing which worked best for them was citalopram, so hopeeeefully i'll be luckily the same!
xx
