*waves* I'm diagnosed with Emotionally Unstable Personality, which I believe is a different name for the same thing, except I have 'traits' in my diagnosis instead of 'disorder'. Not sure why. So... hellooo.

I have traits of bpd but not sufficient to get a formal diagnosis. Common in people with bipolar. I'm one of the ambassador's for bipolar. Hi :-)

Of course I message Bex BEFORE I have the forethought to check the ambassador page >_>;; Hello all! Btw, unless this is the place to be, I lament being unable to find a thread for Dissociative Disorders. I do however relish the opportunity to put some old talents to use. Back when I was in high school, secondary school for those in the UK, my friends could come to me and vent about anything, anything they needed. So consider me one of those people you can vent to if I happen to be on when noone else is ( which usually happens, I think I'm one of the only members in the U.S. lol )

I'm not sure, someone I know has the same diagnosis and his psych said it was to avoid medical stigma (apparently some doctors discriminate against people with BPD as they see them as "difficult patients")
I've never had therapy specifically for a PD, they are virtually unknown in my area and what does exist has a waiting list of up to 18 months

Same here in Chelmsford Evenstar...nothing specific either for the treatment of bipolar or bpd. Certainly a person with bpd or traits of it will not find dialectical behavioural therapy on the NHS. Only private.
