Hi! My name is Andy, I live in Belfast and I'm 25 years old.
I was admitted to my local Mental Health Crisis Team when I was 19, since then I've obtained two degrees (undergrad and Masters) and a diagnosis of Type 2 Bipolar Disorder. My depression is much worse than my mania (or hypomania more specifically) but it's my up side that fuels my creativity and helped me do well in my Sonic Arts degree. I do electroacoustic music and that creative outlet is a big way of coping with things for me. You can listen here; soundcloud.com/notcham
I'm currently talking to the charity Aware Defeat Depression (Northern Ireland based charity) about staging an exhibition of sound art to raise money and awareness. The idea of the pieces featured will be to convey what it's like to live with depression to an audience who are perhaps not so clued in about that; at least one piece will feature recordings of people speaking about their own experience of depression, so if you suffer from depression and you feel safe enough and healthy enough to give me your perspective do get in touch and we can talk about it!
That's all, apart from I'm excited at the potential this group has and happy to see so many enthusiastic people on board already!
Much love xo

Hey Andy,
Thanks for getting involved. The music is great by the way, just had a little listen. Perhaps we could use some of it for a couple of the vlogs?! Glad you're excited about the project, seems like you already do a lot for mental health awareness which is great.
Look forward to seeing you around
Bex x

Thankyou Bex- definitely open to letting some of that music be used if anything is appropriate- would like to support the project anyway I can! And if that means maybe even doing music or sound for videos would be willing to consider that

That would be great Andy! The intro video I've used a piece from a copyright free music site (and it works really well) but would definitely be keen to get some of your music on board wherever we can. Yay creative people!
Also, thanks for the intro video, looks great!
