Hello will do thank you very much . i think when she has been properly diagnosed we will have a better idea of how severe the depression is . We know what has caused it obviously i wont broadcast that on here its the ongoing after effects caused by what has happened

Hey Tim, I would like to welcome you to this forum. I think you are a wonderful person supporting your girlfriend for the length of time you have done it for. A lot of people would have given up by now.
I can understand if you say no, as it might be nice to use this forum for support for just yourself in caring for your girlfriend. But have you considered letting your girlfriend join this forum?

Thank you very much indeed. Yes I can imagine lots of people would , it can get very hard . but all you need to do is try and understand the symptoms i have done al lot of research about depression and what she goes thru. But it's not the same reading about the symptoms as actually feeling what she is going thru, ill ask her and see if she will . There have been times when she is void of all love for me . She will say I love you but I don't love you as boyfriend she will stop doing things she normally likes won't be interested in doing anything on the outside she will be the same but on the inside completely empty even know I understand but in strange way it can make it harder to deal with so I'm not sure what the prognosis will be as she does also have the real down moments then she will be on a high . Thankfully she is not suicidal but does sometimes say wish I don't wake up tomorrow . If I compare what the symptoms she suffers with to the what they say on the NHS website is I could hazard a guess but that would be dangerous I will leave that to the assessor when she consults him

It's great that you're trying so hard to understand what she's living with but yes, actually diagnosing should be left to the professionals.
