Hi there. May I ask if there's anything specific you'd like strategies for?
I have BPD, but I was never offered any therapy so I'm pretty clueless as to how to deal with it. I find its important to remember that the way I act is because of my disorder, not because I am a bad person. I also try to track my moods and warn loved ones that I'm in a particular mood.

Hi, I don't have any experience with BPD but many on the forum do. I'd say check out the Positive Mental Attitude board for thing that may help and if it to do with self-harm there are different strategies posted in that board as well. I hope you can find something helpful.

Hey, I also have BPD, and one way I cope is having friends who know how to deal with it (this could also be family, but I don't have much family left). Also, to have crisis numbers, which should be available from your GP or if your under a mental health team. I've done Self management, which isn't specific to BPD, but very useful. It included making a box of things that help you (face film, chocolate, cuddly toy, perfume, nail varnish etc), and having a crisis plan in place for when you needed it. DBT is very good, if offered, and I also reccomend doing a guided formulation if it's offered (which all contributes to linking your life together in a document and working out how to move forward). My teams psychologist is a Cognitive Analytical therapy, so after I've done DBT group therapy I may be doing that. Also, some meds may help in the short term, I take a low dose of anti psychotics, but I do also have psychosis, but the anti psychotics don't treat that. What's mentalistion therapy? I've done imagined safe place work, where you create somewhere mentally you can go to feel safe, but it didn't work for me. And I've tried to imagine my situation and go through the motions of dealing with it without doing it, but that didn't really help me either. Hope that helps.
