I went in, I sat down, and Dr Osman asked me where I would like to start because we have an hour to talk.
She asked me about my past, I told her, she asked me about the way I coped with it, I told her, I cried, I stuttered, I cried some more (Glad I made the decision not to wear eye-make up!) She asked me more questions about my past, I cried some more and told her more. She then asked me about my now. How I cope with things, how I feel about things.
She then turn't to me and told me I have Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder Traits.
She reassured me that my broken bits CAN and WILL be fixed and they will help me stop thinking so negatively about myself but it will take alot of time and alot of effort.
I'm sat here on the brink of crying again, not because I have these disorders but because for once in my life, I was right about something to do with me. I wasn't doing it for 'attention' and I wasn't 'Making it all up' like a certain family member had told me many times. I was RIGHT. I knew there was something out of place with me somewhere, I knew thinking the way I did/do wasn't 'normal' to do. And it felt good to prove that certain family member wrong for ONCE in my life.
Now I can get the help and support I need and begin the 'transformation' of my mind.
Weight? What weight? It's been lifted!

I know what you mean about a weight being lifted. And I know someone who has completely recovered. I'm on a similar journey to you with it. But we WILL get better.

Hey Keeley,
I am pleased to hear that you have had taken such a huge step in the road to your recovery.
One random question here, but is Dr Osman a GP or a psychiatrist?
Now back to normal questions! Have you decided to go down the therapy or medication route? Or both?

They cam prescribe meds that help, even though they aren't specifically for that, if things get too much! Just incase that info is of any help.
