World Mental Health day 2013 is only 10 days away!!
At the hangout last night the idea for a video was discussed, using the Asda mental patient costume as the perfect example of how stigma still exists today. Now we need to get moving fairly quickly on this, as we don't have a lot of time until it would have to be launched. So if you would like to be involved, please let me know as soon as possible. The video will start with the title "World Mental Health Day 2013 - Why is this important", and will then be followed by examples of where we encounter stigma. So a picture of the asda halloween costume, statements and words we here on a day to day basis and anything else people can think of (please comment below with ideas). It will then move on to pictures of ourselves and a message we want to get across. So it could be something as simple as I'm ......., I live with ......., I'm a mental patient and I'm normal Or anything else you want to say that stands up to stigma. So similar to our very first intro video, but all on the world metal health day theme. You could even put the #WMHD2013 at the end of your message. If you would like to be involved in this then please comment below, get your sectioned filmed asap and send it to Mia@mindslikeours.co.uk ALSO IF YOU ARE A VIDEO EDITOR PLEASE GIVE ME A SHOUT AND HELP ME OUT!!! Hope you all like the idea and will want to be involved. Of course if anyone has any additional ideas for anything else we might be able to do for the awareness day, then please let us know, we can never have too much!

Hi Kim,
I'm really sorry you feel upset by this, this is obviously not what we intend by our video ideas. This particular video is going to be our contribution to World Mental Health day and won't only be on the topic of the Asda costume, that was just an example. We can never have enough videos on awareness and there is nothing to stop you still doing yours, we would love to have it. As I understand yours was going to be on the topic of BPD? Whereas this one is a general awareness video for the national campaign provided by those at the Mental Health Foundation. I do hope you'll continue with your individual video

Sounds cool! I'm a video editor so I can help with that. Lucy Roberts and I also had another WMHD project going on, did you hear about the song idea?

Hey Beth,
That's fantastic! I've been trying to teach myself video editing this morning... total new world!! So help would be amazing. I haven't heard about the song? Is that something you're happy to lead on in time for the awareness day?

I posted about it on the ideas board in the WMHD thread if you want to check it out. Happy to help with editing if you need it.

Hey Beth, That's fantastic! I've been trying to teach myself video editing this morning... total new world!! So help would be amazing. I haven't heard about the song? Is that something you're happy to lead on in time for the awareness day? I was thinking, do you think it might be a good idea to combine the two projects and have your video with the song in the background? That way we can have one official video for WMHD and there won't be any issues with copyright as it's all original. I do really need someone to write a tune for the song, though, and quickly, as Lucy's not able to do it in time and there's only three days to go! I can definitely get it edited in time but I really need help when it comes to the actual song.

That's an awesome idea Beth I really like that! Unfortunately so far I have only had one video clip sent to me, and this worries me as like you say there is only three days to go! Do you know of anyone else available that can write music?

The other Lucy seemed interested, but I'm not sure. I have a music lesson at school tomorrow so it might be an idea to ask about it there. Might also see if there's anyone at school wanting to get involved with the video itself. Is there a hangout tonight? We could bring it up there.

For the song though I literally only need one or two people to sing it and I can edit it to make it sound like there's more, but we will definitely need more video clips!

We have music!!! My cousin Mary wrote an awesome tune and guitar part and I think it sounds pretty great. I ended up making a separate video for the song as I wasn't sure if we could get the other one done in time. I sent it to you mia as I assume you know the MiLO YouTube login, but I had to use WeTransfer as the file was a little too big, so if it isn't showing up in your email inbox then let me know. ~Beth
