Hey Kim,
Basically when it comes to blog commenting it is best to 'talk to them' which sounds odd, but it's the best way I can explain it. For example, if they've written a long post about their struggle then we comment saying "JOIN MILO" then it seems really insensitive.
What I tend to do is read through the blog and pick something to make a comment on. It could be something I've personally experienced or something which I've seen a post about on the forum. I then submit it as a comment on their blog, so that others can see too. As an example:
Hey Kim,
Really enjoyed reading your blog. I'm really sorry that you struggle with emetophobia, I can't even begin to imagine what that's like, although I have my own phobia of leaving the house (agoraphobia). Although I don't quite 'get it' myself, I'm part of this amazing mental health group called Minds Like Ours. We're raising awareness of all the different disorders with videos and blogs, as well as having a forum for support and stuff. Maybe you could submit a blog there? Or join the forum to talk to others about emetophobia and what it's like, or even get advice? Be really good to see you there and good luck with everything!
Love, Bex x
I hope that makes sense! It can be quite lengthy which is why I only tend to do a few a day, but it's really good to get our name out there and recruit others who are in the same boat.
Thanks!
Bex x

I would LOVE to either start, or help run a Tumblr for Minds Like Ours. I think it'd be the perfect platform to raise awareness and get our name out there. There are huge mental health communities just on Tumblr alone, and so many people search tags such as 'depression' and 'mental health'.
