Hi Everyone,

As you know, MiLO is in a transitional period at the moment and I would like to thank you all for your patience and co-oporation under the circumstances.

So we can begin to get back up and running again, I really need to know which members of staff would like to continue with their role. I don't wish to sound harsh, but we really do need 100% commitment if you are wishing to continue. I appreciate it can be a lot of work, and as a small organisation still in our first year of operation we can not compensate you, but we do still expect our volunteers to complete the work they say they are going to and within the deadline we mutually agree. It is not fair for people to have to pick up the slack of others or for one area to be progressing and another one stagnant.

Below is the list of staff members I currently have, please comment below to confirm if you still want to continue. IF WE DO NOT HEAR FROM YOU, WE WILL ASSUME THIS MEANS YOU ARE NO LONGER INTERESTED AND WILL ADVERTISE YOUR POSITION.

Once we know what's what, we can go to recruitment for the vacant positions and schedule a staff meeting which will hopefully leave you all feeling a bit more stable in the current state of MiLO, and we can all get back to doing what we love.

Social media comes under marketing, but we may make it a role in it's own right. This will need to be applied for as a permanent position and obviously staff contracts issued. But thank you for seeing it over in the mean time!!

I'm happy to continue. I think we need to try get more of a staff presence on the forum. If a lot of us could post just one thing a day it would get conversations going and attract more people to the forum and MiLO in general.

Helen, that's fantastic and I totally agree. If everyone can make sure the forum is active this will be a start in getting things moving again. Particularly new members and posts asking for support, please don't leave them unresponded to

Hey, I definitely still want to continue with my role, but there will be a period of time from about Easter until the end of May when I am not able to be that involved as I am in my final year of university and will need to concentrate on that! Maybe if someone could just cover me for that period or even my stuff could be put on the back burner for those few weeks as it's not as "urgent" as such. Thoughts?

I very much want to continue, looking forward to things getting back on track and having stuff to do.

I totally agree with Helen. Me and the mods are struggling to keep activity up when other staff don't post. Even if it's just us talking to each other, it makes the forum seem busier and will keep some members. Once activity is up I can finally start the forum awards.

I guess it shows inconsistency in posting from staff when I didn't know three of the people who are on the list were still Staff.

As for the answer to the main question, of course I will still be a moderator. However, looking back at these last few months I do think there needs to be a balance between showing commitment and staff needing breaks.

Is it just me or has there been a slight (very slight) increase in new members join over the last two weeks or so? It might be down to Joe, Toni and Manisha on the social media side of things, if it isn't just me. If it is just me then no need to panic as I am going back on official medication soon hopefully.

Hi MissBlack, we do not have a problem with staff taking breaks at all, our issue is more often than not they do not let us know, and it means we then can't delegate the work and therefore it doesn't get done at all.

If everyone can resume their normal roles and Callum and I will start advertising vacant positions as well as organising training. If you are doing social media at the moment, we are going to put together a job description for this and advertise it so we can make it formal.

forum activity, as ever NEEDS to be the priority. At this point where we are pretty much starting again, I would like ALL staff to make this their main point of focus. Let's not forget where we came from and what our original aim was. We state on the website that this is the hub of our membership, so lets make it so, and in turn make Laura's job a lot easier as she can then get on with all her fabulous ideas for awards and competitions!

I will leave this thread open until Friday 28th, at which point those who haven't responded will have their roles made vacant. Could you all please email me to Mia@mindslikeours.co.uk so that I can respond to you with the staff code of conduct, your individual job description and staff contract, this will need to be signed and returned to me.

Casey, the above list does include the officers, officers now have their own departments, yours being Ambassadors.
