I've had mixed experiences with friends, well two polar opposite ones. The friend I told irl (who at one time I considered to be my closest friend) started crying and saying it was really sad and then said something about mind charity but then she ignored me for a week and now doesn't take anything seriously or understand at all and on the one occasion I tried talking to her she told me I was selfish and affecting her grades at school(?) she just fails to understand the severity of it and now she acts like it's gone away. My best friend (who I originally met online) has been amazing however. Whilst she can't completely empathise (understandable as she hasn't been through it) she is very patient and understanding, I know I wouldn't be here without her so I'm incredibly grateful for that . [Edit: I haven't actually spoken about it to anyone else except for a counselor I saw 3 times in secret although I was too scared to fully explain it to her] Sorry this was so long winded x.

Friends would be the 1st one. I lost so many friends due to various MH issues when I was younger. Then when depression set in with the ocd, I lost more friends. They seem scared that I might harm them in some way. Also, I have had some negative comments from GPs who didn't believe I had OCD and also recently when I saw the crisis team and their psychiatrist, he said he thought it was something else that was bringing out OCD symptoms and not necessarily OCD. I guess emetophobia does in some way bring out similar symptoms to OCD as I explained in the #24Hours4MH live feed.
